Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury welcomed the Los Angeles Sparks to the desert for a Friday night showdown and owned a 14-point win. After the game, LA rookie Rickea Jackson exchanged words with the former league MVP, causing her mother to go on social media to express her gratitude.

Caryn Jackson, Rickea's mother, made sure to take time to thank Taurasi for sharing an interaction with her daughter with a wholesome caption.

"I appreciate. She is soaking it all up... Thanks, Diana Taurasi," posts Caryn on X.

The rookie out of Tennessee finished the game with 14 points and six rebounds. So far, Jackson is averaging 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds through the Sparks' 4-14 record.

Taurasi will have the chance to speak with another rookie on Sunday, hosting Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever for a primetime matchup. The Mercury's recent win puts them on a winning record of 9-8.
