Phoenix Mercury Coach Drops Six-Word Message On Facing Caitlin Clark, Fever

Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury won over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, 9278. During the victory, many questions arose right after team head coach Nate Tibbetts talked about their upcoming matchup with Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

The win over the Sparks put the Mercury on a winning record of 9-8 and they have a chance to bring momentum heading to their Fever matchup. Asked about the matchup with Indiana, Tibbetts gave an honest forecast.

Thibbets have the luxury of coaching one of arguably the greatest women's basketball players in Taurasi as she takes on the most hyped rookie in league history.

Clark's influence has been breaking viewing records, and she is the main figure in 12 of the 13 most-viewed games of the 2024 WNBA season.

All eyes will be on the matchup between Clark and Taurasi. Tibbetts seems to believe Clark has made a positive impact on the league, and he'll finally be able to witness one of her games in person.

The Mercury head coach made sure to credit Clark for the league-wide change. Many other teams have witnessed viewing history, and Tibbetts seems ecstatic with the simple message of "I'm guessing it's gonna be awesome."
