Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are currently in Phoenix, Arizona, set to play their first matchup of the season against Diana Taurasi and the Mercury on Sunday at 3:00 EST. Ahead of their anticipated matchup, Clark spoke to the media on facing Taurasi, whom many view as the greatest women's basketball player of all time.

According to Clark, this upcoming game against Taurasi is something that she has been dreaming about growing up. Despite fans pitting the two against each other, Clark highly praised Taurasi.

"That's somebody I grew up idolizing and looking up to and wanting to be like one day. Obviously, she's one of the greatest players our game has ever seen, the greatest scorer our game has ever seen, so for me, I'm excited; that's fun. Kind of like a dream come true . You get to live out your dream while playing against the best," said Clark via Desert Wave Media on X.

Even if neither player has played against the other in the WNBA, Clark and Taurasi already have an online history. The former league MVP has been reported to be taking the rookie's spot on Team USA in the upcoming Summer Olympics.

Clark leads all rookies in two categories, averaging 16.2 points and 6.6 assists. Efficiency has been questioned by her critics, but it is clear that she belongs among the best women's basketball players in the country.

Indiana, with a 7-12 record, is gearing up for a crucial game in Arizona, aiming to break their two-game losing streak.
