Caitlin Clark faced off against WNBA legend Diana Taurasi in a televised matchup on Sunday. Clark and the Indiana Fever picked up the win over the Phoenix Mercury, securing their first victory against a team above .500 this season.

After the game, Taurasi spoke about Clark's effect on women's basketball, sharing high praise for the rookie, who has averaged 16.2 points and 6.6 assists.

"It's amazing. What Caitlin's been able to do in her short career so far has been nothing short of remarkable," said Taurasi via Desert Wave Media on X. "The one thing that I really love about her ... she's put the work in. Even throughout her short WNBA career, it's been a lot of pressure, a lot of things thrown at her, and she keeps showing up and she keeps getting better every single game."

WNBA fans and media personnel have been plugging Clark and Taurasi into the same conversations since the Iowa star entered the league, but most of the remarks have been negative. Some fans turned on Taurasi when she made her infamous "reality is coming" comment.

Despite the outside noise, both players showed immense respect for each other during the Fever's victory. Clark said playing Taurasi would be a "dream come true" since she idolized the 42-year-old when she was younger. She then picked up the win against Taurasi, nearly notching a triple-double with 15 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in the Fever's 88-82 victory.
