Phoenix Mercury star Natasha Cloud was in attendance at the WNBA All-Star game on July 20. Following Team WNBA's 117-109 victory over Team USA, Cloud shared her thoughts on Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

"I just think we saw a young WNBA team that was ready to be able to prove themselves... Caitlin [Clark] was great as the floor general, per usual," Cloud said. "Something that we don't talk enough about is, yes, Caitlin is a prolific scorer, but what really sets her apart is her ability and her vision on the floor—her ability to make her teammates better."

Clark finished the game with four points and 10 assists. She secured the rookie record for the most assists in WNBA All-Star game history and was just one assist shy of matching Sue Bird's overall All-Star game record with 11 in 2017.

The rookie out of Iowa started the all-star matchup as the point guard for Team WNBA, along with DeWanna Bonner, Nneka Ogwumike, Jonquel Jones, and eventual All-Star MVP Arike Ogunbowale.

Clark has demonstrated her high IQ in passing the ball throughout the entire season. She currently averages 17.1 points and 8.2 assists, leading the league in assists per game. The rookie also set the WNBA record for the most assists in a single game in league history, posting 19 assists in a 101-93 loss to the Dallas Wings on July 17.

Cloud observed that Clark's ability to make her teammates better and serve as a true floor general has helped cement her name as one of the best players in the league.
