WNBA Fans Roasting Brittney Griner For Performance In Mercury Vs. Sun

Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner was roasted online for her performance against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. WNBA fans called out the 6-foot-9 athlete for getting outrebounded by Sun guard DiJonai Carrington in the 96-69 loss.

Griner finished the game with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Carrington ended the match with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Connnecticut's star has a 5-foot-11 frame, but she was still able to outrebound one of the tallest players in the WNBA.

"BG dont rebound like we know this," said one fan.

Connecticut was outplayed on many levels in the contest. They outrebounded the Mercury , 44-33, while locking down Phoenix with a 17-7 turnover ratio.

"What is happening," said another fan.

As the fan explained, Griner has never been an elite rebounder. She's been in the league since 2013 and has never had a double-digit rebounding season.

The Mercury have now lost back-to-back games, falling to 12-12 on the season. They're 5-5 in their last 10 games.

Phoenix head coach Nate Tibbetts explained that the Mercury have dealt with some challenges this season, with injury woes hurting the team's development.

Griner was working through a hip injury which she suffered in a 95-86 loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Friday. She was also sidelined at the beginning of the season with a foot injury.

It's unknown if Griner's rebounding troubles can be connected to her injuries, but WNBA fans made sure to share their thoughts on her performance.
