Hazardous waste disposal event slated for first Saturday in August
ANTIGO — The Langlade County Conservation Office will host its hazardous waste disposal event outside the multipurpose building of the fairgrounds Saturday, Aug. 3 from 8 to 11 a.m. At the biennial event, officially called the 2024 Langlade County Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep and Medication Disposal, county residents can drop off hazardous household wastes such as cleaning chemicals, solvents, and pesticides, as well as pharmaceuticals, at no cost. Boys and Girls Club seeks funding as attendance grows
ANTIGO — At a Langlade County Board meeting Monday night, leaders from the the Boys and Girls Club of the Northwoods requested a slight funding increase from previous years due to an increase in children attending their programs. CEO Dillon Gretzinger and Director of Resource Development Tammy Walrath said they are hoping to receive $15,000 from the county’s 2025 budget for the club, which has received $12,000 per year from the county annually each of the last several years. ...
AVA holds 'Summer Hummer' art exhibit
ANTIGO — On Saturday evening, July 20, Antigo Visual Arts hosted its “Summer Hummer” art exhibit inside the Langlade County Historical Museum. Antigo Community Theater joined in the fun with a sketch comedy performance before the exhibit awards presentation. “ACT’’s summer-themed presentation was a unique and entertaining experience that appealed to all our visitors and members,” said Vicki Eldridge, AVA Gallery Director. “The performers showcased their creativity and talents by preparing the show in a short amount of time.” ...
