Harrold Man Arrested In Pierre Saturday Afternoon Following Scuffle With Police
PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Harrold man was arrested by Pierre police over the weekend following a confrontation with an officer. Pierre Police Department Captain Dusty Pelle says officers were first called Saturday around 12:15 pm to the area near Robert Street and Dakota Avenue for a possible intoxicated individual laying face down in the grass. An arriving officer noticed the subject, identified by police as 29 year-old Chance Redwater, moving but having difficulty walking. An officer asked Redwater to stop while trying to speak with him and he refused. That’s when the officer attempted to reach for Redwater’s arm. Redwater then tensed up and threatened to hit the officer. Redwater attempted to pull away from the officer, but the officer was able to assist Redwater to the ground to be taken into custody. Redwater continued to threaten the officer after he was in custody. Redwater was transported to the Hughes County Jail on charges including Threatening a Law Enforcement Officer; Resisting Arrest; Obstructing an Officer and Simple Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer.
