PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) -- Court documents filed in Crawford County reveal new details after authorities charge a Pittsburg man with Lewd and Lascivious Behavior near minors and Interference with Law Enforcement.

The alleged crime happened on June 21. According to court documents, Walter Lalimo, 19, of Pittsburg, allegedly exposed himself in front of a child who was born in 2021.

According to the Pittsburg Police Department, deputies responded to a report of Lalimo exposing and inappropriately touching himself in front of people at Schlanger park's splash pad.

Officers say once Lalimo saw police on scene, he ran across the park to the parking lot along East 4th Street, where another officer arrested him. Crawford County EMS treated him for minor injuries he received during the arrest.

Lalimo is being held without bond due to a probation violation from a recent case in February.

His next court appearance is scheduled for August 27, 2024.
