Perry's Ice Cream, Pirates team up for 'Bucco Batter'

Looking to cool off during this brutal heat wave? The Pittsburgh Pirates and Perry’s Ice Cream have you covered.

The two have joined forces to release a new ice cream flavor, “Bucco Batter”.

It’s a yellow cake batter ice cream with crème cookie pieces.

The new flavor is now available at Giant Eagle locations around the Pittsburgh area.

And when you pick up some “Bucco Batter” you’ll also be helping a good cause.

A portion of the proceeds from every sale will go toward supporting Pirates Charities.

“It’s been an exciting project to work with Perry’s Ice Cream to create a flavor that represents Pirates baseball,” said Travis Williams, President Pittsburgh Pirates. “Bucco Batter gives our passionate fanbase a way to show their team spirit while helping us support some great community initiatives.”

To celebrate the launch Giant Eagle, Perry’s and the Pirates will host a launch event this Friday at the Market District in Robinson Township.

Located at 100 Settlers Ridge Center Dr., fans and try a free sample of the new ice cream from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and the first 100 people to buy a cart of “Bucco Batter” at the store during the even will get a Perry’s Ice Cream and Pirates branded ice cream scoop.

Pirates player Connor Joe and the Pirate Parrot will also be there from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for a meet & greet. Autographs will also be available.
