    Buyer or seller: Buyers

One of baseball's best stories of the first half, the Pittsburgh Pirates have surprised many and are right in the middle of the playoff hunt in the National League.

With one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, headlined by veteran Mitch Keller along with rookie phenoms Paul Skenes and Jared Jones, the Pirates are looking for answers on offense.

Outside of All-Star outfielder Bryan Reynolds, offensive production has been scarce as the team ranks in the bottom 10 in MLB in both home runs and runs scored.

With Skenes showing why he is considered a generational talent and Jones proving to be another potential frontline starter to go with Keller, the Pirates can't afford to let this stellar pitching go to waste.

With an elite trio of pitchers, the Pirates would be a scary team for anyone to face if they can find a way into the postseason.

As the trade deadline approaches, here is a player the Pirates should trade for to help them make a playoff push.

One move to make: Acquire Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.

The Pirates have overachieved to this point in the season, but now it's time to try and capitalize on their success and show they are serious about the postseason in 2024.

With outfielders Michael A. Taylor, Jack Suwinski and Ji Hwan Bae combining for 11 home runs and 41 RBI, one position in major need of an upgrade is center field.

As trade rumors continue to swirl, Chisholm Jr. is one name that keeps popping up. He would be a major upgrade to the Pirates offense.

Currently slashing .249/.321/.407 with 12 home runs, 42 RBI and 18 stolen bases, his production has outpaced the trio of Pirates currently manning centerfield and he could also be a piece to build around for the long haul.

With a top-10 farm system, the Pirates have the pieces necessary to make a deal happen and could also try to add Marlins closer Tanner Scott to the deal and help bolster their bullpen.

While Chisholm wouldn't come cheap, upgrading their offense would be a big boost to Pittsburgh's playoff chances and would provide another spark to the fanbase.
