Steelers Stock Watch: Russell Wilson's 'pole position' may be in real danger following Week 2 of training camp

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrapped up Week 2 of training camp on Sunday, taking Monday as a rest day ahead of the homestretch of camp and Friday's preseason game against the Houston Texans.

A jam-packed six days of action, the past week was an appetizer for what we will see ahead of September 8th's kickoff in Atlanta.

And while there were plenty of players who walked away from Week 2 with a rise in stock , similar to what happened in the real world on Monday, here are the Steelers seeing their percentages fall.

    QB Russell Wilson

We have now seen 10 total practices in Latrobe, with only six remaining. In all of those, Russell Wilson has thrown a total of...One pass in drills where all 22 players were on the field.

In that one pass, Wilson reportedly audibled out of a run play, just to rise up and throw a five-yard route while playing with the third team.

Mind you, the whole time that was going on, Justin Fields was settling in and showed why he has potentially flipped the QB situation on its head .

Now, Wilson has a chance to undo all of Fields' momentum when practice returns on Tuesday, as a big two or three days ahead of the game against Houston can keep him in his: " Pole Position ."

    LT Dan Moore JR.

Pittsburgh's best projection along the first-team offensive line entails Broderick Jones at LT, Zach Frazier at center, and Troy Fautanu at RT, yet the Steelers, whether it's tradition or just stubbornness at this point, opt to employ Dan Moore Jr. at LT.

We know his struggles are well-documented during the regular season, so to think things would change against a pass-rushing trio like Watt, Highsmith, and Herbig is asinine, but Pittsburgh holds firm nonetheless.

    WR Roman Wilson

The only, and I mean only reason that Roman Wilson is seeing a drop in stock is because of an injury to his ankle that could sideline him until the start of the regular season. It should be noted that Wilson was seen with his walking boot off and replaced with a wrap on Sunday, pointing to signs of progress for the rookie who was standing out.

But with Fields building rapport throughout the WR corps, those lost reps don't help, even if Wilson is still slated to have a big year.
