    Double-block home lost in West Pittston fire

    WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Crews responded to a fire in West Pittston that had smoke coming from the two apartment house on Tuesday morning.

    At around 1:00 a.m. fire crews responded to a fire in West Pittston at the 600 block of Jenkins Street.

    West Pittston Fire Chief, John Hood says the fire likely started in the attic.

    Hood told 28/22 News that all occupants were outside when first responders arrived on the scene.

    Hood said there was a firefighter who sustained a foot injury.

    The current condition of the house is a total loss. The Red Cross would be helping the occupants out.
