    FAA issues ground stop at LaGuardia and JFK airports due to thunderstorms

    NEW YORK (PIX11) — A ground stop was lifted Monday at LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport, according to the National Airspace System Status .

    The FAA delayed all commercial aircraft from flying out Sunday night due to severe thunderstorms .

    “Departures to LaGuardia are grounded due to thunderstorms. The probability of extension is medium (30-60%),” the FAA’s website stated Sunday night. “Departures to John F Kennedy International are grounded due to thunderstorms.”

    LaGuardia customers were urged to contact their airline to determine their flight status, according to a social media post. You can check your flight status at LaGuardia Airport by clicking here .
