Wisconsin-Stevens Point men’s hockey assistant coach Kromm leaves Pointers after three seasons, takes job with BCHL’s Smoke Eaters
Wisconsin-Stevens Point men’s hockey assistant coach Bryan Kromm has been named assistant coach and director of player development for the BCHL’s Trail Smoke Eaters. Kromm comes to Trail after spending the last three seasons with the Pointers. During that span, the team posted a record of 62-18-7 and qualified for the NCAA tournament twice.
U.S. National Junior team defeats Australia in friendly team competition
In what was a historic moment for golf in the United States, the U.S. National Junior Team defeated Australia in a friendly, two-day competition at SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wis. The match, which featured 12-person teams consisting of some of the world’s top junior golfers, was the first of its kind for the newly developed U.S. National Development Program, an initiative started by the USGA in 2023 to foster future generations of American golf talent.

Rafters pick up 'Fourth of July' win over Mallards
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters celebrated Independence Day with a victory on Thursday, taking down Madison 12-4 at Witter Field. The Mallards scored first in the first inning before adding another run in the second. From there, the Rafters took over. The Rafters scored their first run in the second before a third inning on a three-run home run by Max McGwire. Cashel Dugger picked up a homer of his own two innings later on a two-run bomb to make it 6-2.
