Plover leaders discuss plans to build Tommy's Express Car Wash. What you should know about the business.

PLOVER – Village leaders are considering plans to add a Tommy’s Express Car Wash on Plover Road near Hoover Avenue.

Plover’s Plan Commission reviewed plans and held a public hearing earlier this month to build a Tommy’s Express Car Wash at 1840 Plover Road, near Artist & Fare and Metro Market. The plan will now go before the Village Board at its July 17 meeting.

Plans call for a 4,574-square-foot drive-thru car wash with exterior vacuums on a one-acre site between WoodTrust Bank and Mama Elda's.

What is Tommy’s Express Car Wash?

Tommy’s Express Car Wash is a quick-service car wash that offers a three-minute drive through the car wash tunnel and a variety of products and services to choose from, including free floor mat washers and vacuum stations on-site. Customers can purchase memberships for car washes, including unlimited and “PayPerWash” plans.

The company was first established in 1969 in Michigan and currently operates more than 200 car wash locations across more than 30 states and is adding 88 more, according to its website.

Tommy’s Express Car Wash opened a location at 117 Division St. N. in Stevens Point in February 2023. That project broke ground the previous May at the former Kmart property.
