New UPS Store in Pocatello to hold grand opening on July 11

POCATELLO — The new UPS location inside the Shaver Pharmacy building on South Fourth Avenue will hold its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Thursday, July 11.

Meagan Miller, operator of the store, said the store has been open for about two months now. It is located on the first floor of the building along with the Hallmark.

“The compounding pharmacy is still in full swing,” Miller said. “The first floor is Hallmark and the store. Medical is upstairs.”

This is the second UPS location in Pocatello. The first is on Yellowstone Avenue. Miller said what sets this location apart from the other UPS Store, the new location is a franchise location.

“We don’t have any affiliation with the first,” she said.

This location is a full service UPS Store, so it offers many of the same services that the other UPS location offers. Their services include printing, a notary, shipping and mailboxes.

“We pretty much do everything except the passport photos,” Miller said. “We wanted to see how it worked before we jumped into absolutely everything.”

The process of getting this store open took about a year. Miller said there were a few requirements they had to meet since they were opening a franchise UPS location.

“It was a long time coming,” she said.

Miller said it was a relief for her and the owners when they were finally able to open the store. She said it was amazing to have it opened after all the work they had to do.

“We put in all the labor for it ourselves, so it was really rewarding to see it open and have our first customers come in,” she said.

The store has had a few customers during their first two months being open. Miller said she looks forward to being able to serve the other side of Pocatello that is further away from the first UPS location.

“We are excited to be on the south end of town so we can service this side of Pocatello and the other store can serve the other side,” she said. “That is quite nice.”

The grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 5:15 p.m. Miller said the store will also have a business after hours day that will be held on Sept. 19 at 5 p.m.

The new UPS Store is located at 235 South Fourth Avenue. It is next to Tough Guy Lanes.
