POCATELLO — An adult and two juveniles were rushed to the hospital earlier this week as a result of a north Pocatello crash caused by a drunk driver, authorities said.

The collision between a 2016 Ford Fusion sedan and 2023 Chrysler Voyager minivan occurred around 9 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 15 northbound near the Pocatello Creek Road exit.

The impact sent the minivan careening about 50 feet off the freeway. The minivan's occupants — an adult and two juveniles — suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and were transported via Pocatello Fire Department ambulances to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.

The Pocatello man who was driving the Ford Fusion was cited for misdemeanor drunk driving and released, Idaho State Police said. He was not injured in the crash.

Neither his name nor the names of the people injured in the crash have been released.

The Ford Fusion remained on the freeway following the crash and temporarily blocked the northbound lanes.

Further details on how the wreck occurred have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by state police.
