COLUMBUS—On Tuesday, July 16, the Polk County Senior Center located at 75 Carmel Lane will host an AARP-sponsored seminar on fraud prevention titled “Spot a Scam to Prevent a Scam.” This free event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The hour-long seminar aims to educate attendees on the various forms of fraud and, most importantly, how to avoid becoming a target.

Attendees can look forward to gaining valuable insights into preventing identity theft, internet fraud, fraudulent calls posing as the IRS, gift card fraud, the implications of artificial intelligence in fraud, and much more. The presentation will be tailored to the specific needs of the audience and is suitable for individuals of all ages and those who may be caring for potential fraud victims.

Additionally, the AARP hosts a series of scam prevention events throughout the year at its virtual community center.
