Ashland City Schools approves new five-year contract with Pepsi
ASHLAND — It will be out with the old and in with the new — out with Coca-Cola and in with Pepsi, that is — for Ashland City Schools starting in July. The board of education approved a five-year contract with Pepsi at its Monday meeting. That means the district will now be selling and distributing Pepsi products to its students and in its vending machines, rather than Coca-Cola products.

Wayne County Transit service will end soon
Due to budge issues, Wayne County Transit service, which is operated by SARTA, will end its operations August 31st. SARTA will also end services with Wayne County Department of Developmental Disabilities at that time. Wooster City Transit will continue to have fixed route service for registered riders on the shuttle loop within Wooster. The City of Wooster has said that it plans to establish a new combined city and country transportation system as quickly as possible but this still could take up to a year or more.
Health Department announced food pantry
The Wayne County Health Department will begin a monthly pop-up food pantry on the second Tuesday of the month starting July 9. It will run from 11am to 1pm in the parking lot of their building in West South Street in Wooster. Individuals and families can receive food if their income is at a certain level. For example, a family of four whose annual household income is $62,400 or less would be eligible. For individuals, the number is $30,120 a year.

Wayne County Historical Society Summer Community Band jazzed for two performances
The Wayne County Historical Society Summer Community Band will perform two concerts in July, one in Wooster and one in Kidron. At 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, the band will present a concert in downtown Wooster on North Market Street, weather permitting. Take lawn chairs.
