The Portland Trail Blazers may be the deepest NBA team at the center position following the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday.

After selecting UConn big man Donovan Clingan with the No. 7 overall pick this evening, the Blazers seemingly now have four starting or rotational centers on the roster this coming season. Clingan joins a center room that already features DeAndre Ayton, Robert Williams III and Duop Reath.

While it's entirely possible that Portland makes a move to trim its' packed frontcourt in the coming days and weeks, NBA fans are wasting little time commenting on the Blazers' unusual roster construction.

"Blazers now have Deandre Ayton, Robert Williams III, Duop Reath and Donovan Clingan," Suns writer Gerald Bourguet tweeted.

NBA fans on social media are using the same two words to describe the Blazers' NBA Draft selection.

"Clingan to the Blazers makes no sense they already have Ayton?" one fan wrote.

"Blazers better be looking to trade Ayton. Otherwise the pick made no sense ," another fan said.

The Trail Blazers also own the No. 14 selection in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Update: Portland has reportedly traded the No. 14 pick to Washington .
