Powell man dies and others are hurt in Norris Lake boat crash

A 51-year-old man from Powell died in a Norris Like boating crash where six people were hurt.

Ralph Miller died July 31 from his injuries from the July 26 crash.

At about 10 p.m. that night, the boat Miller was driving hit exposed rock in the Cove Creek area, according to a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency press release. Two people were airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

This is the 14th boating death this year in Tennessee.
