Ogema Public Library is celebrating National Library Week April 7-13 with “Ready, Set, Library!” The series of events throughout the week are a celebration of the gifts that are shared by libraries everywhere and the adventures and opportunities they unlock for patrons.

The Ogema library events start with “Right to Read Day” on Monday, April 8, following by “National Library Workers Day” on Tuesday, April 9, and “National Library Outreach Day” with storywalks, school visits, free little libraries and summer reading programming on Wednesday, April 10, according to library director Mary Hebda.

“All libraries promote the idea that in our always online world, libraries give us a green light to something truly special, a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most,” Hebda said. “Find your crew at your library’s programs, book clubs, memory cafes and just hanging out! Libraries are there for you, so explore, become inspired, connect online all the way through life’s journey.”

The following week on April 18th, Anne Keller of Westboro’s White Haven Petting Zoo will bring some of her family’s exotic animals to the Memory Cafe from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. at Ogema Public Library, W5005 State Highway 86. The public is welcome.
