    Baseball season at halfway mark

    Rib Lake and Abbotsford/Colby are tied for first place with 5-1 records in the Marawood-North Conference. The teams exchanged wins in a two game series with both teams winning at home, Abbotsford/Colby 6-4 on April 23, and Rib Lake 11-3 on April 25.

    Rib Lake is 9-2 overall and most recently lost a non-conference game 4-2 against Auburndale. The team has another non-conference match at Northern Pines on April 29, before hosting Phillips on April 30, and then traveling to Phillips on May 2.

    Abbotsford/Colby is 9-4 overall and most recently lost 9-5 in a non-conference game at Edgar on April 26.

    Phillips lost 17-0 at home against Stratford on April 26. The Loggers drop to 4-3 overall and are 4-2 in the Marawood North. After the series with Rib Lake the Loggers have a non-conference game at Edgar on May 3.

    Stratford improved to 8-3 overall and they are in second place in the Marawood-South with a 3-1 conference record.

    Athens is now 2-6 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

    Chequamegon is 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the conference. In the past week the Eagles lost 14-0 to Medford on April 22, lost 7-6 at Prentie on April 23, defeated Prentice 6-5 at home on April 25, and lost 15-1 to Washburn on April 26.

    The Eagles host Athens on April 30, before heading to Athens on May 2, and then play at Stratford on May 3. The Eagles host Rib Lake on May 7, and then head to Rib Lake on May 9.

    Prentice is 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference. The Buccaneers most recently lost 15-5 in a non-conference game with Mellen.

    Prentice will play at Abbotsford/Colby next on April 30, before hosting the team on May 2. The Buccaneers then travel to Northern Pines on May 3, and then to Athens on May 7.

    Over in the Northern Lights Conferences the Butternut/Mercer Pioneers are 2-5 overall and 2-4 in the conference. The Pioneers most recently won 23-13 at home against Washburn on April 25.

    The Pioneers have three conference games coming up at South Shore (1-5) on April 29, at Hurley (4-1) on May 2, and host Mellen (3-3) on May 6.
