    Phillips School District hires new staff

    The Phillips Public School Board meeting approved the recommended hires of three staff, according to the April 15 meeting minutes.

    Lydia Wissink was hired as a high school math teacher; Julieta Di Nallo was hired as a grade 6-12 campus custodian; and Tammy Holman was hired as the high school forensics advisor.

    The school board also accepted resignation letters from Mark Fuhr, the high school girls tennis coach for six years; Jill Keller, the high school volleyball assistant coach for one year; and Ross Spets, the high school junior varsity football coach for one year.

    Board members Hailey Halmstad, Marty Krog and Jon Pesko took the oath of office for a three-year term beginning April 22.

    The board also approved:

    • creating RFPs for excavation, septic, and well drilling for the School Forest building.

    • purchase of 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel for the bus garage.

    • a Webex phone system upgrade for $76,950.87 over three years.

    Following an executive session the board approved:

    • a compensation salary schedule with alignment for professional staff.

    • stipend payments from the previous plan that meet requirements for advancement.
