    Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

Price County seniors can participate in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition program. The program offers older citizens an opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from certified farmers.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks can be used from June 1 through Oct. 31 at any participating farmers market or roadside stand in Wisconsin. In addition to offering nutritious food, the program supports local economies by increasing the use of farmers markets.

Price County residents, age 60 or older, or Native Americans age 55 years or older, are eligible. The household gross monthly income must be less than $2,322 for a household size of one and less than $3,152 for household size of two.

Checks will be issued on a first come, first serve basis. The three check distribution events will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. June 6 at the senior dining site in Ogema Public Library, W5005 State Road 86; on June 11 at the senior dining site in Park Falls at the Peace Center of Peace Lutheran Church, 598 2nd Ave. N., and June 13 at the Phillips senior dining site at First Presbyterian Church, 144 N Avon Ave.
