Muggies chased away by rain
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -The 4th heat wave of the season had legs on Wednesday with a surprise 90 day in the River Cities of Huntington-Ashland-Ironton. That heat helped to foster scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Both the Wellston and Eleanor fairgrounds saw a healthy downpour pass. While all showers stayed well behaved, the notion that the overnight tropical air could incite a slow moving downpour with pockets of localized high water is not far-fetched. So until the first light of day, let’s not let our guard down! Be vigilant if a downpour with thunder stalls in southern sections.
