A motorcyclist was killed July 25 in a wreck on Interstate 25. The crash closed the highway for several hours and it reopened just before 4 p.m., according to Pueblo police.

At around 1:21 p.m., police dispatch received a report of a serious crash involving a truck and a motorcycle in the southbound lanes of I-25 near U.S. Highway 50.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but later died.

Police are investigating the crash as a fatal traffic accident and do not suspect alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.

"We're still investigating the incident, just trying to see what exactly happened and why," said Capt. Dustin Taylor, a spokesperson for the Pueblo Police Department.

The name of the deceased will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner's Office after their next of kin has been notified.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Pueblo police at 719-553-2502.
