OTTAWA — A former Putnam County corrections officer’s record was expunged Thursday from the Putnam County Common Pleas Court after being indicted on bribery and dereliction of duty charges in 2018.

As a corrections officer, Laurie Watt paid fellow Corrections Officer Richard Emry $100 to take his post to gain unsupervised access to Putnam County Jail inmate William Miller and give Miller contraband. She resigned as a full-time corrections officer on March 18, 2018, and asked to stay employed part-time, but Putnam County Sheriff Brian Siefker terminated her immediately in a letter on March 6, 2018.
