CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good afternoon and happy Wednesday! We are expecting more scattered showers and storms on the way this afternoon and this evening as moisture continues to pour into the Carolinas. This active and wet pattern is expected to continue into the weekend before we finally see some drier conditions, especially on Sunday. The wet pattern is expected to restart once again as we head into the next week.

As for tonight and Thursday, we are expecting more showers and storms to flare up this afternoon and continue into the evening hours with locally heavy rain expected. Temperatures will only be able to dip down into the low 70s thanks to humidity continuing to stay elevated for the Carolinas.

Thursday we are expecting more of the same with more widespread shower and storm coverage compared to Wednesday. Showers will also be possible during the morning and become more numerous as we head into the afternoon hours with more locally heavy rain. More of the same is expected Friday with afternoon showers and storms with highs in the mid-80s.

This weekend we could see a brief break in the wet pattern with just an isolated storm on Saturday and partly cloudy skies expected on Sunday. Temperatures over the weekend are not expected to bounce all the much with highs in the mid to upper 80s expected Saturday and Sunday. But the potentially drier weather won’t last all that long as we are expecting more scattered showers and storms on Monday and Tuesday afternoons of next week.

In the meantime, get ready for more soupy weather! Have a great night!
