    Lincolnton woman wins $1 Million scratch-off

    KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A Lincoln County woman won big with a $50 scratch-off ticket, the North Carolina Lottery reports.

    Mary Young bought a $10 Million Spectacular ticket from the Silver Express on East King Street in Kings Mountain. On Tuesday, she went to the lottery headquarters in Raliegh to claim her winnings.

    Young had two options, to receive $50,000 annually for the next 20 years or take a lump sum of $600,000. She chose the lump sum, taking home $429,014 after taxes.

    The $10 Million Spectacular is a relatively new lottery prize, debuting last December. It has five $10 million prizes, twenty $1 million prizes and twenty $100,000 prizes.

    So far, there are three $10 million prizes, eight $1 million prizes and nine $100,000 prizes that have not been claimed.
