Severe weather subsides overnight, scattered storms continue through weekend

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — It turned out to be quite the stormy Friday evening for many of you! Slow-moving strong storms dumped 2-3+ inches of rain in just a couple of hours, leading to some flooding. Severe storms produced wind damage and hail in parts of the area.

Any lingering storms will be moving out or fading away overnight, leaving us with a much drier start to the day on Saturday. Some patchy fog is possible. But we’re not done with the storms for the weekend! Scattered storms will blossom each afternoon and evening through Labor Day Monday, so continue to stay weather-aware.

The heat will be backing off, though. By Monday, highs are back in the mid-80s, and as a cold front slides south, even cooler and drier air will filter in for the rest of the week. Lower dew points and highs only around 80 will make for some more comfortable feeling days! Enjoy and have a safe weekend!

Tonight: Lingering showers and storms. Patchy fog. Low 72.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with PM showers and storms developing. High 91.

Sunday: Mainly cloudy with sct’d showers and storms. 72/89.

Labor Day: Partly sunny with scattered storms. 71/84.
