The Mets are suddenly rolling, winners of five in a row after completing the sweep of the Padres on Sunday afternoon.

C-Mac, who has expressed little belief in this team for much of the season, says why can’t New York make a run and push towards the playoffs?

“As you look around the rest of the National League…as much as I might tell you that I don’t believe in this team, 1.5 games, I can’t argue that,” C-Mac said. “And of all the teams that they have to jump over, none of them are clearly better than the Mets in any way.

“They’ve just played a crisper, cleaner game. Even McNeil…and this lineup has started to get it going.”

For C-Mac, the most encouraging sign for the Mets is the offense starting to come alive behind the red-hot J.D. Martinez, and if they can continue to hit, they can continue to win games.

“They’re four games under .500, they’ve won nine of 11 and five in a row, and this offense has started to wake up,” C-Mac said. “It feels a little bit different, and it feels like the momentum is turning.”
