Sal goes off on Grimace becoming face of Mets hot streak, says it is making 'mockery' of team

As the Mets were rolling to a sixth straight win on Monday night, the McDonalds social media accounts were posting Grimace throwing out the first pitch at Citi Field last week, as were the Mets social accounts.

The McDonalds mascot has officially become synonymous with New York’s winning streak, as they’ve won all six games since Grimace threw out the first pitch, and Sal is still lamenting the connection between the two.

“I understand that nobody really thinks that Grimace is responsible for this, but what you don’t understand is that everybody that references Grimace, it’s making a mockery of the Mets,” Sal said. “The Mets earned the credit here. Not because of some goofball purple mascot Grimace. His fat purple ass, I’m so sick and tired of Grimace.

“It’s nauseating. Yeah, I’m sure that’s what Nimmo, Lindor, and Alonso want to hear, guys who had been getting ripped for not doing anything…I’m disgusted by it. Give the Mets some credit. It makes them a mockery, don’t you get it?”

Sal made waves on Monday for sounding off on the cult hero Grimace has become among the Mets fanbase, and after hearing from friends telling him to embrace it, he is only doubling down on his despise of Grimace being the face of the Mets turnaround.

“I don’t wanna lighten up! It’s not about Grimace!” Sal said. “Give the Mets dome damn credit for once!

“Every time they do something good, it’s about someone else. It’s the Rally Pimp, it’s Grimace. Forget about Alonso or Nimmo or Lindor, it’s about the Rally Pimp and Grimace! Those are the only guys that get credit for the 2024 season. Enough!”
