    Capital Region restaurant inspections: July 1-5

    ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — At the end of each week, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) releases its list of food service establishment inspections for that week. The establishments include restaurants, school cafeteria kitchens, park concessions, and other places that have commercial kitchens and serve food.

    Here are the inspections from July 1 to 5 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations, and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website .

    Critical violations

    Hiland Park Country Club, 195 Haviland Road in Queensbury

    • Inspection date: July 1
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Cooked or prepared foods are subject to cross-contamination from raw foods
      • Critical: Toxic chemicals are improperly labeled, stored or used so that contamination of food can occur
      • Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service, from potential sources of contamination (i.e. food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food container double stacked)
      • Non-food contact surfaces and equipment are improperly designed, constructed, installed, maintained
      • Accurate thermometers not available or used to evaluate refrigerated or heated storage temperatures
      • Manual facilities inadequate, technique incorrect
      • Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained
      • Lighting and ventilation inadequate, fixtures not shielded, dirty ventilation hoods, ductwork, filters, exhaust fans

    • Inspection date: July 2
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Accurate thermometers not available or used to evaluate potentially hazardous food temperatures during cooking, reheating, and holding
      • Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service, from potential sources of contamination (i.e. food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food container double stacked)
      • In-use food dispensing utensils improperly stored
      • Tobacco is used; eating, drinking in food preparation, dishwashing food storage areas
      • Non-food contact surfaces and equipment are improperly designed, constructed, installed, maintained
      • Wiping cloths dirty, not stored properly in sanitizing solutions
      • Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained
      • Handwashing facilities inaccessible, improperly located, dirty, in disrepair, improper fixtures, soap, and single service towels or hand drying devices missing
      • Premises littered, unnecessary equipment, living quarters not completely separated for food service operations
      • Miscellaneous, economic violation, chocking poster, training

    St. Charles Hotel, 16 Park Place in Hudson

    • Inspection date: July 2
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Food from unapproved source, spoiled, adulterated on premises
      • Critical: Toxic chemicals are improperly labeled, stored or used so that contamination of food can occur
      • Accurate thermometers not available or used to evaluate refrigerated or heated storage temperatures

    Camp Stomping Ground, 3430 Boyhaven Road in Middle Grove

    • Inspection date: July 3
    • Violations:
      • Critical: Potentially hazardous foods are not stored under refrigeration except during necessary preparation or approved precooling procedures
      • Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service, from potential sources of contamination (i.e. food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food container double stacked)

    Friends of the Saratoga Public Library Coffee Shop, 49 Henry Street in Saratoga Springs

    • Inspection date: July 5
    • Violation:
      • Critical: Enough refrigerated storage equipment is not present, properly designed, maintained or operated so that all potentially hazardous foods are cooled properly and stored below 45 degrees

    • Violation:
      • Lighting and ventilation inadequate, fixtures not shielded, dirty ventilation hoods, ductwork, filters, exhaust fans
