Standout runners, throwers and jumpers: Our Girls Outdoor Track & Field All-Scholastics

1 day agoLocals made their mark in the state and beyond this spring in high school girls outdoor track.
Lily MacDonald of Norwell (triple jump) and Maya Ashu of Stoughton (javelin) produced the area's top finishes at the New England championships with each placing second. Carver's Carly Peterson tied for 9th in the high jump at New Englands, Oliver Ames' Lavender Kozaka was 13th in the long jump and 16th in the 100 meters, and OA's 4x800m relay finished 8th.
Pembroke's Sarah Claflin was dominant again this season, winning the 100m at the Meet of Champions (for the second year in a row) and the 100m and 200m at the Division 4 state championships (also for the second straight year).
