Natchitoches Police Department investigating shooting on Virginia Avenue
NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - Natchitoches Police discovered a person suffering from gunshot injuries Thursday (July 25). Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Virginia Avenue in reference to gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to officials with police department.
Woman arrested with drugs at vacant house
Narcotics officers arrested a Ruston woman last Wednesday while investigating reported drug use at an abandoned house. Officers of the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team responded to a house on Union Avenue where they found several people inside. In identifying the occupants, they learned Lametria L. Owens, 23, was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear in Third District Court.

Mathews, a native of Leesville, Louisiana played for the Ragin' Cajuns from 2011-15 where she appeared in 100 games, posted a career 55-11 record, a 1.99 ERA, 40 complete games, 10 shutouts, 389 strikeouts, and 447.2 innings pitched.
