Maidu rolling in Section 4 playoffs
After two games, Maidu looks unbeatable in the Section 4 10-11-year-old All-Star Tournament being held at Mann Park in Folsom. Woodcreek’s Major All-Stars got by Rocklin on Friday, but weren’t so lucky Sunday morning against Land Park. Facing a team that had some 12-year-olds a whole head higher and probably about 25 pounds bigger than some of their own players, Woodcreek had no answer in a 13-0 defeat in three and ½ innings.

Playing its fourth game in two weeks, Republic FC picked up a point and another clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against North Carolina FC on Saturday night. North Carolina saw the first opportunity for either side in the 8th minute as play broke out up the left flank. A cross reached Oalex Anderson in the box, but his shot was sent right into the chest of Republic FC goalkeeper Danny Vitiello in front of goal. For the 12th time this season, Sacramento held its opponent scoreless through the first 45, third most by any team in USL Championship.
