    Family reunion in Hunterdon turns violent, suspects at large: police

    READINGTON – Police are looking for two men they say turned violent at a family reunion this weekend on Emmons Road.

    Richard B. Gonzalez and Ryan S. Gonzalez, both 32, of Staten Island, assaulted guests of the party with a knife and brandished a handgun, according to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.

    Officers responded to the party around 1:45 p.m. Saturday on a report of two men threatening people attending a family reunion, the prosecutor’s office said, and learned that before the party began, there was an unrelated domestic dispute.

    Victims of the assault received medical treatment at the scene but refused transport to the hospital, according to the prosecutor’s office.

    Richard and Ryan Gonzalez fled the scene before police arrived in a gray Honda Accord with New York license plates, the prosecutor’s office said.

    Richard Gonzalez was charged with one count of second-degree aggravated assault and one count of third-degree terroristic threats.

    Ryan Gonzalez was charged with one count of second-degree aggravated assault, one count of third-degree terroristic threats, two counts of third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

    Both suspects are still at large, and police are attempting to locate them.
