RED BANK, NJ: The Borough has been in communication with the NJDEP regarding last Wednesday's sewer main break and subsequent discharge into the Navesink River.
The incident occurred on July 11 at the Red Bank NJ Transit parking lot when a third-party drilling company struck a Red Bank force main, causing the break.
This afternoon, the NJDEP reported that routine shellfish testing and bathing beach testing have been conducted, confirming normal water quality levels.
There are no advisories in place for the Navesink River due to the repaired sewer main break.
The Borough’s update on their website said it, “Appreciates the community's patience and understanding as we addressed this emergency situation.”
