Wednesday is day two of the Asphalt Cowboys' city-wide contest for cash prizes, a Redding Rodeo week tradition.

Two local celebrities disguised as the ephemeral Lone Stranger and Sidekick staged a mock robbery of the Golden Valley Bank on Hemsted Drive in Redding on Tuesday. Despite the Asphalt Cowboys yelling and shooting guns (filled with blanks) into the air in their wake, the despicable desperadoes made off with the loot, Asphalt Cowboy Dave Tappan said.

Chantel Davis of Redding found the loot on Tuesday, where it was taped underneath a bench at the Redding Airport, according to Tappan.

So, Davis has walked away with the $500 prize for solving the puzzle — requiring only one clue.

But the Lone Stranger and Sidekick are still at large, so that contest continues on.

The Asphalt Cowboys issued a new clue on Wednesday (below) to puzzle out the identities of local personalities playing the desperadoes.

Help the cowboys win the day and help yourself win $400 if you solve the puzzle on Wednesday.

Prize money drops $100 each day until someone wins or the game ends on Friday.

Then, return to Redding.com for more clues on Thursday and Friday — or until the Asphalt Cowboys announce winners in both games.
