‘American Pickers’ Will Film in Iowa This September
Earlier this summer, the show 'Antiques Roadshow' made a stop in Iowa to film a couple of episodes. Now, another popular show will be returning to the state to film!. A recent article from the Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that 'American Pickers' is set to do some antique-hunting in Iowa in September of 2024. ADM’s Ellis Smith Makes Softball 2nd Team All Conference
A sophomore from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball team secures a spot for all conference. Ellis Smith is another recipient on ADM to be apart of the 2nd Team All Conference for softball following a wonderful season. Smith played in 40 games during the 2024 season with 104 at-bats, scoring 23 runs off of 30 hits. She racked up 25 singles, four doubles, one triple, and 16 RBI’s, hitting an average of .288.
Charlie Lake Named New Head Football Coach for Panorama
With a new season of Panorama Panther football on the horizon comes a new head football coach for the Panthers as well. Charlie Lake, who was the elementary school physical education teacher last year now accepts a new role as head coach of the Panorama Panther football team. Lake hopes to guide the Panthers towards a positive season which has not been done since the 2020-21 season, as Panorama sat at a perfect .500 with a 4-4 record last year.
Wildcat Football Camp Less Than A Week Away
Although schools in the state are closed this week due to family week, West Central Valley Wildcat football players are getting much deserved rest while preparing themselves for the Wildcat football camp on Monday. With camp starting on Monday, just a week before regular practices begin for the Wildcat football team, athletes are taking advantage of this week long break to let their bodies recover while mentally preparing themselves for a new season of West Central Valley football.
Former Perry Softball Coach Looks Back on 15 Years
Tina Lutterman has stepped down as the Head Coach for Perry Softball. Over the last 15 years, Perry had a record of 181-290-2 under Tina’s leadership. The former coach shared some of her favorite moments over the years. “2016 the highlight game would be the the Regional Final against Dallas Center Grimes and that final pitch making it to state that one would still bring tears to my eyes. That’s a big one. The way that my season ended this year, just the way the team dug deep and pulled out two big wins that were definitely not supposed to happen that is a lot of pride there too.” It was more than just the games for Tina. “The relationships that I built with the players over the years and those that continue to stay in contact with me and reach out you know. There are some of them that reach out in the beginning of May every year and to say hey I’m thinking about you today feels like softball weather. I just really cherish those moments and know all the little things along the way that just made it really fun.”

West Central Valley Kindergarten Roundup Next Week
The West Central Valley School District will be holding an event for some of their students at the Stuart Elementary building. The Kindergarten Round-Up will be from 9-10am next Tuesday, and is for incoming kindergarten students and their families for the 2024-25 school year. The students will be able to meet the teachers and take a look around the school, and parents will receive the necessary information they need for the coming year.
