THING Festival 2024 Unveils Full Schedule Featuring Over 40 Bands
The final lineup and full festival schedule has been announced for THING, the eclectic music and arts festival happening at Seattle Theatre Group's (STG) new outdoor concert venue at Remlinger Farms in Carnation, WA from August 9 – 11. The tightly curated lineup includes over 40 bands playing multiple stages, featuring headliners St. Vincent, Black Pumas, and Toro Y Moi, with Spoon, Killer Mike, Stephen Sanchez, Ethel Cain, and Earl Sweatshirt. THING is an all-ages, one-of-a-kind experience curated with the whole family in mind (children 12 and under are free), produced by STG and Sasquatch! Festival founder Adam Zacks.

SEATTLE — A Mountlake Terrace High School graduate and Seattle local were nominated Wednesday for Emmy awards. Lily Gladstone, a graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School, was nominated for supporting actress in a limited or anthology series for her role in "Under the Bridge," a true-crime miniseries based upon the book of the same name.

Starbucks announces permanent closure of Alki store, customers start petition
SEATTLE — Starbucks has announced the permanent closure of its Alki store which has caused some customers to start a petition trying to save it. In a statement, the company announced it will be closing its Alki location at 2742 Alki Ave. SW. The announcement said it would be adjusting the operations of two stores in the West Seattle area.
New location, new date for Low Rider Block Party
Since its inception, the Low Rider Block Party presented every summer since 2021 by Nepantla Cultural Arts Gallery has been near the gallery in South Delridge, and it’s been in August. This year, it’s moving to White Center proper, and moving up to July. A reader just tipped us that the block party is this Saturday, July 20, 11 am-8 pm, on 17th SW between SW Roxbury and SW 100th. Passengers wait for hours at SEA Airport due to global service outages
SEATTLE — Some passengers at the Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) were stuck for hours into Friday morning due to global service outages that grounded planes. The outage stems from a software update by the company CrowdStrike - a cybersecurity firm that provides services to Microsoft. The update included a "defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts," that knocked out access to computer networks all over the globe.
Court documents reveal alleged ‘hate crime’ at Edmonds Ezell’s Chicken restaurant
Snohomish County Superior Court documents are revealing an alleged “hate crime” at an Edmonds business last month. As reported by My Edmonds News, a man brandished a knife and hurled racial insults at two employees of Hispanic descent at the Ezell’s Chicken restaurant at 22019 Hwy 99 in Edmonds.
