RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - It’s no surprise that pickleball is growing in popularity - it’s inclusive and affordable. Bloomberg reports that pickleball is even overtaking golf as the new corporate sport because of how inexpensive it is to get started. Over the weekend, The Box Elder Events Center hosted its ‘Beat the Heat’ tournament. The Box also hosts a tournament in the fall called ‘Pickle Boo’. These tournaments are open to anyone: men, women and mixed divisions, open to all ages.

Teams from the Corn Belt League went 3-4 during the first round of the Class B State Amatuer Baseball tournament in Mitchell. The Harford-Humboldt Wood Ducks, Canova Gang, and Dell Rapids PBR each won their opening round games.
