    Alex Green named new executive director of RETC

    DAYTON — The Rhea Economic and Tourism Council (RETC) recently announced the addition of Rhea County native Alex Green as the new RETC executive director, effective May 13, 2024.

    “Being offered the opportunity to serve as the next executive director of RETC is a dream. I’m grateful to the board for their vote of confidence, and I look forward to jumping in on May 13 and delivering results for this community,” Green said. “Those looking to invest in Rhea County will find friends in this office. We’ll work tirelessly to recruit good jobs, profitable tourism and outside-the-box solutions for Rhea County.”

    In this new capacity, Green will be responsible for overseeing, managing and implementing strategies as outlined by RETC’s executive board and promote economic growth and tourism in Rhea County.

    “Our best days are ahead, and I’m excited to be part of it,” Green said.

    In joining RETC, officials said that Green brings varied experience to the position, including marketing, communications and public relations, as well as editing and business reporting. Green also volunteers locally and is the president of United Way of Rhea County, director at the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Dayton Rotary Club.

    “RETC is pleased to be adding an individual with such skills and experience to help meet our goals for economic growth in Rhea County.,” RETC Executive Board Chair Stephania Motes said. “We look forward to welcoming Alex as the executive director of RETC on May 13.”
