Library update: Beginning Readers book club, movie and chocolate-tasting event upcoming

    2024-02-07

The Rice Lake Public Library invites all interested to a Beginning Readers book club on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 4 p.m. It is designed for early readers aged 5-7, but open to all readers. The book "See the Dog" by David LaRochelle will be read and discussed. On April 2, the author of the book will be at the library for an author visit and drawing workshop.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. enjoy a movie about a man who loves a woman who he is afraid of professing his love to. It will be followed by a profession of the love of chocolate with a chocolate-tasting event.

Two 10:30 a.m. storytimes are hosted at the library each week — Friday's features stories, songs and rhymes; while Saturday's event includes follow-up craft.

Knitters and crocheters meet at the library on the second Saturday of the month at 1 p.m. to share time together while working on projects. Beginners are welcome.

Have you always wanted to learn how to play chess? Chessheads hosts a series of chess classes on Mondays at the library from 6-7 p.m. and regular chess games from 6-9 p.m.
