Two Macomb Probate judicial candidates advance to November election
A private practice attorney and one of two assistant Macomb County prosecutors running for Probate Court judge advanced Tuesday to the November general election. Benjamin Shock of Macomb Township, an elder law and probate attorney, collected the 37.7% of the votes to finish first in the nonpartisan primary, and Assistant Macomb Prosector Aaron Hall of Clinton Township drew 36% of the tally to capture one of two ballot spots for the runoff. Finishing in third and removed from contention was Jevona Fudge of St. Clair Shores, also an assistant Macomb prosecutor, who received 25.3%.

CBP Field Ops Intercepts 266 Pounds of Cocaine in Port Huron
PORT HURON, Mich. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Office of Field Operations intercepted 266 pounds of cocaine at the Blue Water Bridge port of entry, Aug. 1. An x-ray scan of an outbound tractor trailer and subsequent physical inspection conducted by officers and a K-9 team revealed 100 bricks of suspected narcotics concealed behind a false wall within the trailer. The illicit cargo was confirmed to be cocaine through subsequent testing.
Joseph Angelo Fantuzzi
Joseph Angelo Fantuzzi passed away August 8, 2024, at age 67. Joe was born October 22, 1956, to Angelo and Josephine (Grammatico) Fantuzzi. He graduated from Berkley High School in 1974. On November 23, 1979, he married Marie (Pollard) Fantuzzi. Along with his wife, Joe raised his two children Ryan (Emina) and Lauren (Tony Schneider) in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He had four grandchildren Ava, Anthony, Arthur, and Dean. Joe was employed by the Postal Service for over forty years. Many friends and family considered Joe as a “second father” or “favorite uncle.” Joe’s legacy will be the kindness and generosity he showed to all who knew him. He was a great guy.
