Phase 3 Segment of New Hampton Tribe Trail Could Open in August
The Phase 3 segment of the Tribe Trail in New Hampton could be open in about a month. That’s New Hampton Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman, who says officials were meeting Wednesday (07.17) should have a firmer idea of when Phase 3 will be completed to connect the Tribe Trail from Linn Avenue on the south side of New Hampton with the Chickasaw Wellness Center on the west side of town.

Bettendorf motorcyclist seriously injured in Scott County crash
A Bettendorf motorcyclist who has not been identified was injured Thursday night in Scott County, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. About 7:30 p.m., the Scott Emergency Communication Center received a call of a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 115th Avenue and New Liberty Road. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and an investigation was conducted.

Davenport woman sentenced for assault with scissors
A 57-year-old Davenport woman was sentenced to prison Thursday after she pleaded guilty in connection with theft of a cell phone and a threat with scissors. Debra Miller pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree theft and a charge of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. She appeared in court with her attorney and was sentenced to up to 10 years for the theft charge and up to two years for the assault charge.
