Westfield veteran calls for change to property tax law
A Westfield veteran has started a grassroots campaign to lobby elected leaders at the state level to increase the property tax deduction for veterans in Indiana. Mike Madigan served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. An Illinois native who lived in Wisconsin before moving to Indiana in 2020, Madigan said when he moved to Westfield, he was surprised to find the property tax exemption in the Hoosier State is far different from what was available in Wisconsin.

North American Stamping closing Muncie plant, idling 62 employees
MUNCIE, Ind. – North American Stamping Group is closing its Muncie plant effective Nov. 30, affecting 62 employees of the factory along West Eighth Street, according to information filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The company, headquartered in Portland, Tennessee, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (Warn notice) with the state agency Tuesday. Wilmington, OH – Residents in the Ohio Valley can expect a change in weather starting Sunday as showers and thunderstorms are forecasted to hit the region.
