More than 20 Rochester police officers were called to Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Park at Manhattan Square overnight to break up fights between teens who had gathered at the park.

The late Thursday night incident - in which no one was injured and no charges were filed - came nearly two weeks after six people were injured in a mass shooting at the park on June 23. All six people survived and ranged in age between 17 and 33 years old. During the June 23 incident, someone pulled out a firearm, started shooting into the crowd, and fled.

The shooting prompted city officials to enact a curfew at the park. Following the mass shooting, MLK Park started to close at 8 p.m. until further notice. The park is typically open until 11 p.m. RPD and city security personnel will patrol the park nightly, under the mayor's order.
